Blackpink’s Rosé is less than a week into her solo career, but it’s already blossoming.
The K-pop star last Friday dropped her -R- project via YG Entertainment, featuring the lead single “On The Ground” and the b-side “Gone.” Based on midweek data, “On The Ground” should enjoy a Top 40 debut in the U.K. and it’s heading for a strong start on the Billboard charts.
On Tuesday night (March 16), Rosé stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for her premiere TV performance of the new song.
Shot in black and white, Rosé is framed with eye-catching angles and a support cast of slick dancers. There’s more energy on screen than you’ll find in a triple-shot latte.
Born in Born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Rosé is a founding member of the record-setting four-piece that is Blackpink.
Last October, their full-length The Album bowed at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200, for the highest-ever ranking in history by a female K-pop group on the all-albums tally.
The Album went on to shift 1.5 million total global units, according to the IFPI, for a No. 5 ranking on the 2020 Global Album Sales Chart.
