Duncan Jones has remembered his late dad David Bowie, whose death five years ago triggered outpourings of grief around the world.

In the years that have passed, Bowie and his legacy is anything but forgotten, Jones remarks in a social post.

“Today marks 5 years since dad died,” writes Jones, a celebrated filmmaker in his own right. “We are all a little sad, coping individually in our own ways. But it’s both remarkable & delightful that dad is still so clearly loved by so many. Yes, he’s missed… but with so much of “him” in the work he made, he’s clearly still here.”

Following a private battle with cancer, the iconic British artist died Jan. 10, 2016, just two days after his 69th birthday.

Jones’ post features the artwork from what turned out to be Bowie’s final studio album, Blackstar, a gift to his fans which dropped on the Hall of Famer’s birthday.

Blackstar went on to rule sales charts around the globe, including the U.S. where it was the Bowie’s first Billboard 200 chart leader.

Jones is the director behind such films including Moon, Source Code, Warcraft, Mute and the forthcoming sci-fi Rogue Trooper, based on characters from the 2000 AD comic. Rogue Trooper is coming “soon,” enthuses Jones on his social accounts.

Earlier, on what would have been Bowie’s 74th birthday, Jones shared a snap of the pair. “Happy birthday, goofball,” he wrote. He later added: “Embarrassing dad pics are the best. I’m working on some of my own with my kids.”
