Taylor Swift’s “Love Story (Taylor’s Version),” a fitting soundtrack for Valentine’s Day, has topped this week’s new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Feb. 12) on Billboard, picking Swift’s newly released version of the song, off of her forthcoming re-recorded Fearless album, as their favorite new music release of the past week.
The options on this week’s poll were actually a mix of old and “new,” considering it featured the revamped “Love Story” (the original was released in 2008) and remixes including Ariana Grande’s “34+35″ music video with Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion and Erica Banks’ “Buss It” featuring Travis Scott.
“Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” brought in nearly 50% of the vote, coming in ahead of Dua Lipa’s new single “We’re Good,” Ariana Grande, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion’s “34+35 (Remix)” video, Karol G, Anuel AA and J Balvin’s “Location” and more.
Swift’s re-recording of “Love Story,” the first taste of her highly anticipated collection of re-recorded music, was unveiled Thursday night (Feb. 11) — and beyond the fan-voted poll results, it launched with a swift sales start and garnered 5.8 million on-demand streams in the U.S on its day of release.
“Hey guys so who’s gonna tell 18 year old me that our love story would still be going strong all these years later?” Swift tweeted over the weekend. “Thanks for the ways you fill my life with love 24/7, every damn day.”
