Glass Animals are on a seriously hot streak with “Heat Waves”. Lifted from the British psychedelic pop outfit’s third album Dreamland, the single got away to a slow-ish but solid start in August 2020.

Fast forward to January 2021, and the track was declared song of the year by listeners of Triple J, before it ascended the Australian singles chart for a six-week (and counting) unbroken reign. It’s now triple platinum in the Land Down Under. Along the way, “Heat Waves” gave the Londoners their first U.S. leader when it hit No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart.

Not bad for a record that was created “after 10 minutes of looking into space and plucking the guitar,” frontman Dave Bayley recently told Billboard.

On Tuesday night (April 6), Glass Animals strutted their stuff on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a performance right out of a dreamland.

Bayley and Co. performed their surprise hit in a lit up — but totally deserted — “Dreamland” theme park.

Check out the late night performance below.
